Still practising my digital colouring. This time on a piece I did a couple of months back. Facebook Twitter Pintrest 5 notes
Was watching ‘Coco before Chanel’ last night. It was pretty good, though I was much more interested in how she built her company and image, rather than all the fellas she was with, which is where the focus of the film was. Audrey Tautou, as always, was excellent. Anyway, I just loved the costume design in it as well, so as I was watching I sketched this out. Like most drawing recently, I don’t even know why I did this, I think Im absorbing all the valentines schmaltz around me (The lady in black originally was holding flowers behind her back, but I couldn’t get the composition to work). I just liked the contrast in the film between all the over the top frilly Renoir-style outfits, and Chanel’s elegant simplicity. Facebook Twitter Pintrest 5 notes
Warrior lady doesnt appreciate being bothered by upside-down-elf-lady. That’s the title of this piece, take it or leave it. Facebook Twitter Pintrest 19 notes
I drew this on christmas eve, so originally there was mistletoe in renee’s hand, though it sat on my drawing board for too long so now it’s an all seasons piccy. On my other Kate/Renee picture I really wasn’t happy with the colouring, composition, etc etc, so I fancied doing another. (A good excuse or what?) And this one is much more visually interesting IMO.
