You may be able to tell, but I spent time on the faces, and pretty much no time at all on the costumes.
BTW, Jon Hamm is my perfect Reed Richards casting, though I didn’t base this off him at all, lol.
I havent been posting much of my own drawings recently because I’ve been working on commisioned pieces. But here’s two pages from my portfolio.
A freebie for Wednesday - My textured inking brush. I often use this for grittier elements and things I’d usually use either a nib or a grease pencil/crayon for if I were working traditionally. Gives some interesting results, very responsive to pressure and tilt. Give it a whirl and see what you think :-) Drop me a Tweet or a comment if you enjoyed it or have suggestions and feel free to share it or retweet etc!
So Empire’s doing a Dark Shadows poster competition. Im not really fussed about the movie or anything, never really been massively into Burton, but I like having a brief to work to.
So I did this line art for it. I tried to work in the whole family tree motif. I was particularly pleased with how Michelle Pfeiffer and Eva Green came out.
Ink on Bristol Board.
Tony and Bruce Hitchhiking.
So I was thinking about how they could do an Iron Man/Hulk film (Unlikely to ever happen, but would be great) And I figured a fun set up would be if there was some reason why Tony had to go on the run. Like if Stark Industries had been infiltrated by a traitor, and Tony’s life is in danger. He’d be totally out of his comfort zone: no cars, no jets, no Jarvis etc.
Bruce goes with him, since staying hidden on the run is his speciality. And so they hitchhike around places trying to figure out who the traitor is and how to expose them.
So in this picture I wanted to give the impression of Bruce being the more confident one, taking control of the situation, and looking after Tony, who is just totally lost in the real world without his gadgets.
I figured I should post something, since everything Im doing at the minute is for my Kapow portfolio. This is from a month ago, just a fun little pin up thing, though drawing the money took forever.
I dont think Ill get around to finishing this any time soon.
But guys, Avengers tomorrow, so I have a good excuse. I promise not to post any spoilers.
He has legs on the original ink drawing, but they were ruining my composition.
These are quite fun to draw and colour. Art deco inspired Avengers portraits. I’ve nearly finished Thor and Hulk, just have to get Iron Man sketched out and I’ll have a nice set.
Coloured ink sketch. Was v pleased with it. Now back to sensible work.
Someone posted some Robin Hood gifs earlier, and it just reminded me how much I loved this movie when I was little, so I did an interpretation of the titular character.
Already blogged this this morning, but made some changes to the colouring so I’m replacing it.
Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner from the new Avengers movie about to Hulk out. I think I’m completely in the minority when I say that he’s the one I’m most looking forward to seeing in the new movie. I just think it looks like a really good take on the character.
Neil Gaiman, ink on paper.
I fancied doing another portrait, and had recently fell back in love with the Sandman books.
If you’ve read Sandman, then it’s nuff said.
